Time for my FXDC to get its first replacement battery. $130 from Harley, $115 from Batteries Plus. Unsure about Walmart. Not to make this into an oil thread, but would like to hear what others have found about different brands available. Thanks, tomp dd50

IMO, buy a Big Crank. Made by Deka (same company that makes Harley batteries) and costs about half the price. Google it and you'll find at Battery Mart I think. Free shipping if remember correctly.

Thanks for the info. BTW, I like your 45. I have a pre-Gold Cup National Match. One sweet hand gun.
Got a $50.00 gift card from a friend. Subtract that amount from the Harley price, and their price is now cheaper than other vendors. Will get a new battery in February, after more sales come my way... tp

I bought one of those batteries on Amazon with 500 cranking amps for a hundred bucks to save a little money over the HD one. Big mistake within two months it only had 10.4 volts across the two poles. Talked to the HD parts guy and he told me HD batteries are specially made with interior walls inside the battery to absorb the vibrations from the engine. The others he told me are no so made. So I shelled out the money and got one, at least it is guaranteed for a year.
For about $30 more than Harley, you can get one of the new Lithium-Ion type batteries....last two to three times as long and weigh 13lbs less that AGM type batteries.
Saw them at the IMS and was impressed..... They were so light, I thought they handed me an empty demo case. Anyone else have some experience?

My Harley battery is 7 years old and still going strong. Are you telling me that one of those will last 14-21 years?.....................I love a good laugh.
