Default Wheel suggestions....

I am definitely going with black wheels, any suggestions on something that is not $1,000/wheel?? Should I just powdercoat or paint them myself instead? Lastly, how the heck do ya'll with the wheels I have clean these things? What do you use? They look like crap an seem very hard to get to....

These are black contrast cut Poker wheels from Southern Motorcycle Works. The wheel package consisted of an 18 X 5.5 rear, 18 X 3.5 front, and matching rotors (3) and pulley and came in right around $1600.

That seems like a really killer deal...imo worth all that for the look your getting...if you want to go less expensive pick up a set of dyna mag wheels...always around here and ebay and you can powder them and still be under a grand...just my 2 cents

Wow yeah that is a killer deal...hmm...choices! I love how those wheels look ......powdercoating is in the back of my head though. I can take it all apart and probably have them coated for around 2-$300 right?

I agree. Those mags look killer in black. For me it was just a size issue. I wanted to run 18s front and rear and I also wanted to run a 200mm rear and a 130 front. I wanted bigger than the stock 16s without losing the performance of the smaller wheels. If the size of the dyna mags work then that is by far the best bang for the buck looks wise. Robbie13 on here has a Street Bob with black mags and chopped struts and that thing is badass looking.

That sounds about right for powder coating. That's the way I would go if I was you. Your bike would look awesome with black mags. No doubt.

10-4 my mind is made up! I can't spend that on wheels as much as I'd love to. So what all do I need to take apart to get these things ready? Powder Coating it is! Anyone good with Photoshop so I can see what'd it look like? I can send ya a recent pic...

Just need to pop out the bearings. Contact Joe the Powder Pro on here. Ive heard good things about his work and even if you don't use him Im sure he can give you some tips. The most important thing is getting the wheels CLEAN. Of course who ever does the work "should" clean them before coating. But mag wheels are really porous. If you have any grease or oil imbedded in the metal you need to get it all out or it will mess with the coating.
