Default Inner primary changes

I am getting ready to swap my fat bob to mid controls. I picked up an inner primary, part 60790-06A for cheap

After some research, I realize that this has been superceded two times and the current number is 60790-06C

Anybody know the major differences? Should I just bit the bullet and get the newer part or is it just a bearing change or something that I can address on the cover i have.

Well, for starters they no longer make them with mid controls so that's one. The other two might be finish choices. (Black, chrome)

The dyna inner primaries are interchangeable, so this would be the part number for a street bob or super glide

What years the bike? I just did mids in my 13 bob and I used the same inner just had to drill a 1/2" hole where the linkage goes through...very simple it has the linkage tunnel cast into the cover already just isn't drilled all the way through make sure you grease the linkage where it goes through

From what l've worked out, Dynas from 07 onwards are all pretty much the same. You just need to study a parts book to work out what is interchangeable. What you want to do is pretty easy, you just need to work out what you need.

I recently did this and am trying to find the part number in my email. Bought it off some guy in Texas used I believe.

Anyways, just to be safe I had the dealer install new bearings in the casing.

If you're buying new get the newer part, if used just replace the bearing.

Yeah, It looks like this is the breakdown:

60790-06 is 2006 Dyna with the old (bad) bearing
60790-06A is the part for 07/08 Dyna
60790-06B is 09/10 Dyna
60790-06C is 2011+ dyna

The replacement for A/B or C is 60790-06C

Not sure what the revisions are but they are all interchangeable, I'm just going to replace the bearing on the 60790-06A that I have and use it since I got it for $45
