I noticed my clutch slipping more since I put the new cams in. Guess I'll upgrade the spring. Thanks for the info.

I've been thinking about doing this as well. Do you have to remove the primary cover to change it?

Screamin eagle or barnett? I just did 574 cams. Haven't had any issues, but cutouts as to if this is a must or highly encouraged upgrade

Well from the previous posted the Barnett is few pounds stronger than the SE........it's a must if your getting on your bike and the clutch is slipping when you try to shift.

Thanks, I guess I might as well do the compensator and 30 tooth trans pulley at the same time.

No rob. That's the time to do it. I would recommend the Hayden M6 tensioner while your in there doing all that. After installing it and the SE Compensator the primary is like butter! No more clunks, just silk shifts.

I have read many great reviews about it but till you try that's when you become a true believer. Really make a different!

its really strange how different bikes act, with the 96cid and woods 555 cams i wailed the hell out of my bike and even had it dynoed had no slippage. not till the stage II heads installed and the compression corrected for the tw 555 cams still felt no slippage until went on the dyno. tuner noticed clutch slipping a little at 3500 rpms but never felt it as I driving the bike, stock setup held up to 90 hp.

I wonder if they went to stronger clutch spring when the 96 ci. Came out. I don't think mine slips once it is engaged but it does slip longer while engaging.

The clutch just holds on tight now , simple and relatively cheap fix to make. Great modification. Should be standard mod on all stage one , big bore and cam additions. Clutch holds strong from start to finish off the line and anytime I shift now.

I always install 10% stiffer clutch springs in my dirt bike/atv builds. The Screamin Eagle Clutch spring was used in my 06 Dyna and is already purchased and gonna be installed on my FXDX when I do the Baker IPB as well.

The SE clutch spring is a great upgrade.
