I bought my wife a 2003 Dyna Super Glide last week. she is taking the riders edge class end of this week. So I have been "Testing" her bike for the past few days and come to the conclusion that she is really going to need a windshield, Any recommendations on a good cost effective windshield for the 2003 Super Glide that would make this more enjoyable for her? Thoughts?
I got the Switchblade windshield for my sig bike last winter from National Cycles. I was wanting one which looked good and didn`t spoil the look of my CVO. This also has a locking bracket, which will allow you to remove the windshield if you want to for city riding. And, it`s cheaper and better looking than the Harley windshield. I got mine in smoke color, which looks great, but it comes in clear also.
The windshields on my bikes just create turbulence and buffeting........For true comfort, just get her a good full face helmet. If you are going to be going on long trips, get he a small windscreen, just to reduce the pressure of the wind on her body.
I went with The HD 14" Smoked Glass Quick release set up and I like it. I tried it at different heights and with the top of the windshield at my nose heigh the wind goes over my head. Here is the link:

I agree about the turbulence and buffeting behind most windshields. Well, every one I've ever ridden behind.
I just put a National Cycle Flyscreen on my wife's bike, after reading tons of positive reviews. Oddly enough, that little thing, properly angled, takes most of the wind pressure off the chest, with no increase turbulence. Now her hands don't get so tired just from holding on against the wind. We're pretty happy with it. Looks like this (from their website, not her bike, also available without tint)

I'm a Windvest fan.
At around town speeds it is like I don't have a windscreen on.
At 70 mph I'm in a nice smooth area with little turbulence
At 90mph I can one hand the bars all day long
I have a Memphis Shades slim on my 2012 Wide Glide. I have had Memphis Shades on most of my bikes. I can't ride without a windshield. Whenever I do I seem to attract anything and everything that is in the air or comes off the road, smack into my face. Plus the wind on my body makes me feel I am going to fly off the back, lol!
And although I have one, a full face helmet is not an option for me except in extreme cold. I hate them.
went through a couple of windshields, and a bunch of seats, last week I bought a Harley quick release touring windshield, and a Harley two up touring seat .for me this is the best setup I have had so far, wanted to stay with a solo seat and rack, just didn't work for me, so I put the overnight bag on the back of the seat and shoved a pillow in the front for a back support.
