Recently purchased a fork/tool bag for my '07 SG from HD. I plan on keeping my registration/insurance (in a waterproof case) and a spare set of glasses for the rides that run longer than expected. I was thinking about throwing some just in case tools in there too. I was just curious what opinions are out there for "must have" tools on the go and what other handy items people have been putting in their bags. Thanks for the input.
Couldn't find it on the HD site, but this one is pretty close minus the string tie downs and metal studs. The one I bought cost $30 and has a leather strap that wraps around the forks to keep it in place. the leather is a little thinner than I'd like, but it was worth the price and has actual buckles (like the style in the link) that will keep it from flapping open like some others with just velcro some of my friends are running.
I have a fox creek bag mounted under my headlight on the forks. Keep a varying array of tools in there depending what I worked on most recently but I almost always have:
Zip ties
Channel locks (knippex brand)
Crescent wrench
2-3 open ended wrenches
Short section of fuel hose
Phillips screwdriver
Mine is far from perfect and could definitely use refinement.
