Default Air Shocks

Purchased some 13" shocks off of a guy in Nashville for $50. Brand new in the box. Had them laying around since Jan and finally got around to putting them on. Probably the best mod so far. I can't believe the difference in the ride. So smooth now really handles the railroad tracks and road bumps 100% better. I just want to thank all you guys who have already done this and posted information on how you did it. Always makes the job easier to look here for experience and suggestions. Cant wait to start on my front now with traxxion and intiminators.

I put a set of 12" ones from a street glide on my bike, a superglide custom. Zero modification to the bike required. I changed out the oil for some Mobil 1 synthetic ATF and it rides smooth at 15 psi each shock.

Got such a good deal on a brand new set of 13 inchers that I couldnt pass up the buy. Would have preferred 12" which would have been the same as my Bob. I do have to admit I feel like im sitting higher. I dont know if I really am or if its the cushion like ride. As I look at the bike it doesnt appear higher but the ride is amazing. Some rough bridge transitions here and now they're nothing. Its really hard to describe...I HIGHLY recommend this mod if your not looking to spend alot of bucks on rear suspension. Total time it took...maybe an hour. I had hung the shocks upside down for a week prior to get the old oil out. Put 10oz of amsoil shock suspension 10 wt. Added 15 psi in each and like I said they ride nicccceee.

I did the same think, then a forum member helped me with http://bitchinbaggers.com/products/drop-shocks/ and had them cut to 11" and I like to lower look rides nice to as better than stock ever was.

Thanks man. I may save myself some money and buy new shocks for my Road King and then put the 13" air shocks on the Dyna. Did you run lines for a unified air valve or just put a valve on each shock for air?

Nah just did schrader valves in each. Used a barbed fitting which actually ended up being 1/8 to 5/16 barbed fitting and then 5 inches of 5/16th tubing and a syringe and just pumped 10 oz's in each one. Took about 10 minutes per shock. Put a little pipe dope on the threads to ensure no air leakage. Pretty easy actually
