Hi everyone,Does anyone else think these bikes are very stiff in the rear shocks I love the bike but mans it a rough ride or maybe because im only 150 pounds i have tried arnott air ride its about the same so i will be selling them but what else can i try
Stock Street Glide shocks are 12" long eye to eye. Stock Touring Shocks are 13" long. I took my stock SG shorty shocks off and went to a set of 13" Works Steel Tracker ARS and have been real happy with the improvement in ride and handling. Didnt really change the profile of the bike too much and the extra ground clearance for cornering is a real plus.
I tried over and over to adjust the air pressure in my SG shocks to find the sweet spot. I was always either too soft and bottoming out once in awhile, or too stiff and bouncing off the seat once in awhile.
I finally gave up on the air shocks and bought a set of Ohlins #2-#3 that were pre loaded for my weight and riding style. It was worth every penny to me. The ride is dramatically improved now.
I weigh about 150 also and felt the air shocks were too stiff even with no air pressure on my 2008 Electra Glide. I am now running 12" progressive 412 shocks. Much better but still a little stiff when not carrying anything in the bags. If I had the money I would probably try the Works or Ohlins set up for my weight. I tried a set of Legend air rides on my 2002 Custom Roadking and they were not any better than the stock air shocks in ride quality. It was cool to be able to drop the rear of the bike 3" with the touch of a button for that slammed look though!

My Ohlins cost less than half a pair of Legend Air shocks, so you can afford to buy two pairs!
I agree that my 2009 SG shocks were either too soft of too stiff. So I replaced them with the new Progressive 940 shocks.
Also grabbed the Monotube front end goodies for in the forks. Now I cannot afford to eat. ;-)
I won't have a ride report for another 2-3 months as it is winter here.

I put 440's in....they cost almost $700.00 what did the 940's cost you?
For some reason when I ordered them I thought they were a $400.00 shock.....that was until I went to pick them up! LOL
