Well, sounds bad at first but look at the bright side to this dark side, if you have the exhaust off while working on this it's a perfect time to put in some new cams

Yeah, the bummer is I leave tonight to go home and visit the family, when I get back I have 1 week before I deploy for almost a year.

The shift shaft seal is a rubber seal that the shaft goes through, this shaft rotates for every shift you make, eventually wearing on the seal and lettting some trans oil out. If you have access to UV oil dye put an ounce in the tranny, go for a ride then hit it with a black light. If it glows then you know what cavity is leaking.

Did you happen to check the stator cable where it penetrates the primary in the front of the case on the left side? I've had leakage past the grommet that is molded to the cable. Take a look at it, hopefully it will be dry. If it is wet then you'll know it is a problem. Good luck.

Hi,

I had same on my wide glide go, it will most likely be the inner bearing race walking out a little bit which upsets the inner primary seal

Make sure it is primary fluid first, take off all of the primary, inner, everything etc, on back of inner primary you see primary fluid running out

You can inspect all main seal stuff once you pull inner off, it most likely be dry around the big nut

Dont buy anything until you pull apart, its all an easy job just time consuming, the inner bearing race needs to be taken off and new one pressed onto right depth, some tap the race back to correct spot, you will need puller/installer

It all fixed mine up
Thanks
Mirrmu
