Default I got it!!!!

Finally traded my Iron 883 for a '14 Street Bob yesterday, you guys have been very helpful with your help so tomorrow i took the plunge and got it. Was able to negotiate with the dealer well, they wanted 10% down, and i told them no, not putting in a down payment on the bike, so they were like maybe $800? i told them no, to work out their numbers, then after 20 minutes, they told me ok can't do any better than 100 dollars down.

On the inside i was jumping in joy but the wife was not very happy, because she wanted no down payment, so i told them, if im putting a down payment, then you guys can throw the pillion and passenger pegs on the bike, which saves me time and money, but i didn't tell them that. Only way to make the wife happy so now she can ride along with me. They made the deal, gave me more for my 14 iron to cover more down payment, and i rode out of there a happy customer now on to making mods and riding....

i already changed the gas cap and the headlight ring, which i had from my iron, makes a pretty good difference already, going to save until bikectober fest to get new grips, maybe t-bars, and whenever i can, exhaust and such.

On a Street Bob, what difference would it make to make it with a Stage 1 on it? It already cruises so smooth, and i won't really want to go fast, just be really comfortable with her going 80 MPH, so not sure if just putting slip ons on it are worth it or a full stage 1 makes that much of a difference

congratulations, it's a great bike, already being all blacked out is a plus, some people spend a lot of money to do that, you should have it a long time, $100 down Payment??? LOL, that doesn't even cover the tagging fees with the mva,,, sounds like you got a great deal from your previous thread.

plus, you can throw on some slip-ons and you won't have to do the stage 1 tuning, that way you can get the sound with not much money, I recommend to spend $100 more get a good set of slip-ons that will actually improve performance and give you a deep sound like pythons, V&H, or cobras. not that cheap cycle shack junk.

yeah the stage 1 would add a small noticeable amount of power, but 103 CI, you already have plenty of power, I would just do the slip-ons too.

Congrats on the new ride! As stated above, if you just want the sound, a good set if slip ons would get you there. If sometime down the line, you want to go full stage one, you can sell the slip ons, and throw that money towards new parts! Enjoy the new bike, looks great!!

Very sharp congrats!

I noticed some performance increase when I did the full stage one but I also tuned. Prior to the stage change I did AC and tuner with stock exhaust. The tuner change made the biggest difference. Much smoother, especially in acceleration from stand still and low speed maneuvering.

Of course as you know the bike runs beautifully in stock format as well but doing the AC and tune was huge for me (even before pipes)

Bike looks great - bet you are loving it! Congratulations.

Personally, I would get some secondhand slip ons at first just to get the sound you want, then save the pennies for a full exhaust system, hi flow air cleaner and tuner and do the proper stage one all at once.

I think Harley spec the HP on the 103s at 68 - but I also think that is at the crank, not the rear wheel, so it will be significantly less at the rear wheel. Once I did my stage one, I had the bike dyno tuned and the results were 80 HP and 99 ft/lbs torque - so it makes a big difference. Not just in the numbers but also in the smoothness and feel of the bike. It's much, much nicer to ride!

Congrats on the New Ride!!!

A good stage 1 will make a very noticeable improvement in performance. However, if you're happy with it now, why spend the time and money now?

It can be something you save up to do later on, to make it have that "brand new" feeling again.

Below is a chart of a good stage 1 with True Duals, if you go with 2-1 or use a crossover set up, the difference is even bigger.
