Default Shocked!!!!

When I bought my bike it had 11" shocks on it and it sat way super low. As in low to the point all my wires were stripped bare. Plus it rode most bad. The shocks could have been shot, or they could have been for a Sportster, or they may have been shot shocks for a Sportster. The bike had a 180/55-18 tire on it.

I bought a set of 12" Progressive shocks and then it sat too high, so I put a set of 1" lowering blocks on it. Sits great, the ride is mass quantities better than the 11" that were on it, but I hate the way it handles with the lowering blocks on.

I know tons of people put 11" shocks on Dyna's with no problem.

I dumped the 180/55-18 tire and went with a 160/60-18 which gave me a lot more clearance between the sides of the fender. And it's just a fraction taller than the 150/80-16 that came on my bike. I'm thinking a set of 11" Progressives would work out fine now, but don't wanna dump cash into shocks I cant use. Whats the thought on this?

Difference between a stock tire and my 160.

Bike with 11" shocks.

With 12" shocks and blocks....this is with the 180 tire.

Just me, but I like the 12"ers better! Just looks right for some reason!

I like the looks too, love the angle the shocks are at, but their covered by bags about 95% of the time now. I plistidiped them black not long ago. Since the bags are on, I'm more into ride and handling than looks.

Agreed. The 11 inch shocks were probably lowering shocks.
