Getting somewhere, these are going to powder coat tomorrow. Bought the conversion install kit should be here well before wheel is done. Hopefully, in a couple weeks the rear will be repaired and back on the road while I wait on the dual disc stuff to finish trickling in from HD.
Good news - all the parts showed up including brand spanking new front wheel... It's going to be dropped off at PC tomorrow.
Bad news... HD gave me a left side fork lower. Even better, when I call and let them know - they can only find a black right side in stock... So, at this point I guess I'm converting the lowers to black which is whatever - I'm fine with the aesthetic but pissed I have to spend the money. I could just PC them but adds time I'm not willing to eat. ****ing annoying.
Make sure there is absolutely no powder coating whet the bolts and washers mate to the sprocket.. Other wise they will loosen and will be catastrophic....

Done - I picked them up from PC and dropped them at the shop, I checked them and shop did as well.
Did they have any trouble getting the textured black areas smooth, or are they still textured? I started with brand new raw and black FXDL rims a few years back and the clown that did the powder did a **** job prepping them (and a **** job shooting the powder too), so I have some areas that are smooth and others that are sort of smooth. If I had it to do over, I'd start with the bronze rims since they have no texture.

I think pretty good but i was principally concerned with coating where it wasn’t supposed to be. I had the wheels all of about an hour with 50 minutes of that them in the back of the truck on the way to shop.
