So i bought some new grips for my 2016 harley roadking. I accidentally pinched the wires on the hand controls and it blew some fuses. I put new fuses and fixed the exposed wires. The bike starts up but then seconds later the check engine light comes on and the bike dies. Then has no power. Im wondering if it may have went into some kind of theft mode?

 

My guess is you still have something wrong w/the wires...poor connection, cut, or grounded. Might need to take it apart and trace...

 

Is it canbus? Need to replace whole wire as soldering changes the resistance of the circuit.

 

Are you getting any codes? Maybe that will pint you in the right direction?
