Default help identifying

Hello Everybody,

I have a 2011 Ultra that I am trying to hardwire a GPS under the batwing. Everything I have researched tells me about two taped or capped wires, orange/white and black. I opened my batwing thinking it was going to be an easy install and found the attached pictures. Can anyone tell me where my two wires are at? I purchased this used a few years ago and believe some other things might be wired to those original two wires but am unsure how to id them.

Thank you

A gps takes very little power, so all you need do is find a wire that provides constant power, when the ignition is switched on. On two of my bikes, being International spec models, I have an extra front bulb in the headlight, so plugged into that. Check your front fender tip light, as a suggestion, the wire comes from inside the fairing, so should be easy to plug into.

thank you grbrown.

I really appreciate the help. Was brave last night and removed the black wire between the two orange/white and pulled apart another spliced black wire that is seen to the right exiting the photo. I assume the previous owner had something connected here since it is not like other models I have seen. Wired in the GPS and it works when the ignition is turned on.

One other oddity on this bike is, I was going to hook it up to what I assume was the accessories plug under the seat but when I did, the accessory switch on the dash did not control the GPS, only the on and off of the ignition......mystery for another day.

thank you again and ride safe
