Yes, when I put in the other light I had (a spare 8960A) It works normally.
I had the bike running, the switch was set for high beam but the high beam wasn’t working. I unplugged the H4 connector and plugged in the spare bulb. It came right on in high beam.

So, the spare works fine, being JW Speakers warranty sucks, and the light is only good for low beam and
intermittent high beam now I think I'll take it apart and see how it works.

Well that stinks! Pretty expensive light to not have either a decent warranty or a decent company to stand behind it.
Why was your claim denied? What excuse did they give?

Its a 6 month warranty and you can only return it to where you bought it. Like a storefront or online merchant. Except Ebay or Amazon.

Update, must be bike related. It happened again yesterday but it's not as frequent.
Guess I have to follow the wiring and pull the tank. According to the wiring diagram
the dash light and high beam meet at the molex connector on the backbone.
Might owe JW Speaker an apology, but their warranty still blows.
