Low beam blown?
Hey Everyone, I have a 2008 Road King 105th Anniversary edition, belong to an MC, do a lot of riding and this has me baffled. We were leaving a gig and a brother noticed my headlight was out, my spots were on of course, so I threw on my high beams they came on but the spots went out. I have darn near tore the bike apart tonight and found nothing wrong. Another friend called and said that he believes the spots run across the low beam circuit when the highs are on and vice versa, and if the low beam was out it should produce this problem has anyone heard of this? Thanks Keith aka Cobbler
Spots only work with low beam so if spots were on and headlamp was not, but headlamp came on when high beam turned on and spots went out, then yes you need to replace the bulb as the low beam is gone.
Welcome to the forum Keith.
The headlight bulb is a dual filament bulb.
The low beam filament is shot , just replace the bulb.
In the "stock" configuration , the passing beams will only work with the low beams.
This would be normal.

The spots only work when when headlight is on low beam, your low beam headlight is definitley burnt out!!!
