Bike is a 2019 Heritage with around 5600 miles; I bought it with 4300 miles. When I start the bike first thing in the morning, it has a momentary hesitation; almost like the battery is failing. The bike always starts but the clock resets to flashing 12 and the info center goes back to odometer. For the rest of the day, the bike starts normally. It did this just after I bought it and I assumed it was a bad battery. I replaced the battery and all was well for a day then it went back to the hesitation. Bike is kept on a battery tender when not riding and the tender goes to green almost immediately so I'm pretty sure the battery is ok.
I'm starting to think it may be a voltage regulator problem or a sticking starter selenoid. My knowledge of electrical components is weak, so I don't want to throw parts at this in hopes that I fix it. If anyone with electrical knowledge has any ideas I would appreciate the help. Thanks
load test the battery
then check connections
test stator output and VR output
of note, the VR needs a GOOD ground and does so though the mount, some add an additional ground wire.
