"Official" word mid year 07 was that the press lube used to assemble the wheels did not "dissipate" during the press process and allowed them to slip! Fact or BS in a 25 ton press?
Who knows, but it hasn't been a mass problem since!

 

I have 2007 Ultra with 50,000 miles and the bike has been very well taken care of. Took it to the shop for oil change and chain guide inspection. Crank was .020 out. Looking at new 96 crate motor vs rebuilding current motor. Any thoughts and did they fix issue with the current crate motors.

 

Do like me and buy a 103HO from a 2014-2015 , swap it out, you won't regret it...if you can do the work yourself or get a local independent shop to do it, it won't break the bank, I paid $2000 for mine with 10k miles on it.
