Head work?
Cylinder head re-surdace is a great way to increase the compression, but the amount needed to be removed, in the case of an 88" with a 37 cam is beyond, as many things come into play, ie , manifold fitment(or re-surface the intake mounting surfaces), pushrod clips, geometry, etc,.

As Scott indicated to utilize the 37's with head work you will need that comp bump... The most effective build at this point would be the 98" package. I would think only another $600 for the Pistons and bore if you do the toolling... I converted my 80"er to a 96"er and the power band is unbelievable... 115/109...... = FUN...... That was with head work as well....

No, of course not Max... Just an indication of what good head work will accomplish... MAXHEADFLOW........ ISN'T THAT WHAT IS BEING CONSIDERED HERE?
