Greetings all. I was replacing cams, cam plate, lifters, tubes,o rings etc. on my Ultra. I bought an apparently worthless in/lbs torque wrench and snapped the head off of the very first bolt in the torque sequence on the cam plate. Unfortunately, it is inside the steel tube and I am not able to get a drill bit to cut the grade 8 bolt so I can back it out. I've tried cobalt bits,Dewalt titanium bits,HSS bits and I have left hand reverse twist bits,(one of which I've broken),not inside the bolt though. I am using WD-40 for cutting oil. I am having practically no success. I have a center point in the bolt but I can't seem to get any bits to cut in. Thanks in advance for any and all help or advice.
Is the bolt broken off in the case, or is it inside the steel tube? If the bolt bolts protrudes beyond the engine case, pull the locating dowel (steel part) out with pliers, and grab bolt stub and remove with vice grips or pliers..
