mating engine cases

mating engine cases
Have an idea, can a 67 cam side engine case be mated to a 78 alternator side case? I know this sounds crazy... just curious...

I thought the first year of the Evo is 83 or 84?

You’re correct. I saw 87. Guess I’m getting dyslexic in my old age. I don’t see any reason it shouldn’t work.

S&S sells them that way...if you are mating mis-matched factory cases...they need to be lined honed.
They make an adapter so you can put the oil filter where the generator used to be.

Can it be done, yes, with a cost, but the finish/fitment/strength of an S&S case would trump the other.
