Leak down test

A lot of talk about leak down test. What are the ins and out of doing one. Any kind of advise to help get it done right and accurately. What tools are need or help getting the correct numbers and what they mean

Rather than take up space to explain, suggest the OP Googles "leak down test" for a detailed explanation of the why and how of the test. Basically, it is a diagnostic test to evaluate ring and valve seal.
