Default Possible Hotspot on a piston

I picked up a slightly used 117 cylinder and piston kit for my 08 cvo road king. The guy who removed them used a center punch to put marks right on top of the pistons so they can be matched up to the cylinder they came out of. While that is a great idea and I appreciate it im just wondering if it will create a Hotspot on the pistons or is it nothing to worry about?I'm not 100 percent sold on using them as I haven't talked to Scott at hillside to see what he recommends for a combo that'll get me where I'd like to go. But like always I have a budget and I'd like to use what I have and spend more money elsewhere...like more headwork maybe. I appreciate any advice. Hopefully they're not expensive ashtrays lol

Can't help you, I usually leave my pistons in their respective cyls. But if not, I would just mark "F" and "R" on the tops with a sharpie

Well the hole certainly won't cause a hot spot. If you are concerned about the raised edge on the punch mark, sand it off with some 600 grit.

My concern would be structural damage to the piston hitting it with a punch.

When they were shipped the guy put the cylinders and pistons in box that was way too big with one red shop towel in it. I think the towel was in there by accident lol. Everything was banged up...piston skirts and the fins on the cylinders had lots of dings where they were playing bumper cars inside the box.

That cleaned up and its not noticeable now.

just addressing the punch marks
mr. max made a good point on just sanding them down but i see no issue what-so-ever. industrial engine pistons often have stamped in numbers on the crown.
take a look at je auto pistons

I could tell from the punch mark that the piston was forged. If it were cast, there could be issue as they can be brittle. After a better look at the piston and I wouldn't run them. They are pretty banged up. When you get to a case like this, it's better bore the cylinders one size over. If the cylinder spigots are dinged, I wouldn't use them either.
