So I’m new to the whole external breather kits. I have a 21 FXLRS and I installed a feuling vented dipstick & feuling BA air cleaner. I ran the vented dipstick hose exactly how their diagram shows and ran the air cleaner hose also following their diagram but only using one filter for the air cleaner since I’m also using the vented dipstick. Changed my oil using 3.5 quarts. Did about 1,200 miles this weekend and the filter from the vented dipstick was dripping oil the whole time. A buddy of mine said that a HD tech told him that you shouldn’t run more than one external breather kit at a time…… Any truth to that? I checked my oil (cold) and it’s two dots from the bottom of the stick. Is anyone else running the same setup or similar? If so did you have the same issue?? Thanks for any advice or tips!!!

not familiar with the setup bag to engine wise, but, i would not run the vented tank.
the normal vent system although lame does extract oil from the vapor.
the hd engine needs to have vapor movement to help move the oil
the oil returning to the tank is not constant and will have a lot of oil burdened vapor, the tank does not separate this vapor as there is no coalescer inside it.
this vapor is routed back to the engine to be dispelled in normal fashion.
for what it is worth, it does effect the pump suction.
This is why the tank is no place for crankcase venting. You're asking for trouble with oil being carried out with the vapor.
The umbrella valve allows a certain amount of air back in before closing too This makes for pressure pulses. Ask Hayden. They will tell you this. It's why I use a reed valve off the head breather bolts. They're superior to the umbrella valve. I don't care what max thinks or says.
found out through Feuling that you aren’t suppose to run a external air breather in conjunction with their vented dipstick or a transmission vented cover. With the new M8 Softail models when running in conjunction it’s causing oil to push out of the dipstick.

What do you mean by external air breather? Are you talking about the head breathers and you're suppose to keep them vented back into the engine? I sure hope not.
