Default hesitation

2001 Harley Road King with TC88 engine and 11,000 miles. I have a hesitation when I twist the throttle. It's as I'm throttling from idle. It hesitates and then will accelerate and run out well. I'm running a S & S super E carb which I've tried adjusting as I should and even every other way to no avail. I have the same carb on my 1984 Super Glide with the Evo engine and it works great. The hesitation is very annoying and I'm hoping someone can give me an answer as to how to fix it. thanks, gregjo1948

Have you tried tuning the accelerator pump up? (or down) What jets have you tried?

Are you running drag pipes?

Have adjusted the accelerator pump--no help. Haven't changed jets yet. Don't know whether to go bigger or smaller. Running stock exhaust.

Did you try turning off the accel pump? What jets? I take it that the motor is stock? I suspect that you'll need to go down but I've never tuned a stock motor with an E. Have done SnS motors. Others here will pick up on this and provide more experience.

Take off the air cleaner and look for a spray of fuel when ya twist the throttle. Could be a bad diaphragm. Pull the bowl and see what jet's are in it. Pull the plugs to check the color, too lean or rich. Inline fuel filter???? Take it off, it's restricting the flow.
