2007 1585 FXDL EFI Engine idle/cutting out. Please Help

2007 1585 FXDL EFI Engine idle/cutting out. Please Help
Hello
So iv got an issue with the bike.
I get it out n ride 15ish miles to my mates n it runs fine, stop for a brew. Get back on the bike starts fine n start riding but then it starts revving high when idleing. I try to bring it back down with the clutch n eventually it will come back down n run normally. So we get the the pub. Switch it have a pint ect. Then we get back on the bikes, again starts fine n we set off but then it starts idling low to the point it wants to and does cut out. Starts absolutely fine straight away but will continue to idle low n cut out 2 or 3 times when stoped or clutching in. Then it will out of nowhere it catches the correct idle n runs fine for the rest of the time I'm on it.
It normally happens in 3 stages like thlike each stage ending when the bikes been off for a small time.
Does anyone have any ideas of where to start looking.

Iv done this after you said it it worked for a while so my next question can I remove it to clean it properly or if i replace it whats the best 1 to get. They range from Ł30 to Ł150. Is there going to be much difference between them all?
