Default Have you had crank issues with TC?

Curious how many people have had a bad cranks on TCs? My 2007 has bad crank bearings and they took out the pin. Noticed it because the rods were sticky and not falling away smoothly. Someone I know privately talked to a dealer, and they said they have seen alot of that in 2007s.

Only had 70k miles. My 01 90k I pressed that apart and it looks great.

If a built motor, mention that. This was just stage I. For the first year or two, I did a bit of engine braking.

Maybe it would have gone for long time like that, but also might have grenaded worse

Did you forget that you already have a tread on this subject???

Sounds like you are just making stuff up again to see your words in the forum.

Perhaps you can derail your own thread again and get to the top of the thread posting leader board

And where is your old avatar? Can't make up your mind?

I skewed the flywheels on mine. Not long after putting 107 stage 3 big bore kit on it. It had stock heads and a cam. I really wasn't that hard on it, but that pressed together crank couldn't handle it.

Just a random thought: Why don't you Google it and see if there is any data instead of being curious and wondering.

The only issue I have with my 2007 FLHTC was the inner primary bearing walked into the oil seal and caused it to leak.

Put a new updated IPB and seal and all was good until I traded it in on my 2017 FLHTCU.

So what did you do to fix it? I am replacing rods, bearings, pin, balance and welding. recentering sprocket side.

I sent the whole crankcase off to Darkhorse Crankworks. They balanced, welded, h-beam rods, and timken bearing. The works. It cost a pretty penny. The top end was fine but I had the heads ported over at Fuel Moto. It's holding up good now I have 7,000 miles on the new crank. It stays wound up in the higher rpms most of the day. It sounds like you're on the right track. It sucks having the bike down but in the end it's worth it to have peace of mind.

Down time is not issue, but I got other mouths to feed.

I didn't do tiimken bearing, which I always thought I would.

Still a stock crank just welded and balanced. Curious if less vibration or if Harley stock was balanced to the million pistons they sold

I was told there is less vibration, but I can't tell. You can upgrade to an SE lefty bearing..
