Possible coil issue?
I have a 1340 HD engine in a custom Santee frame which has been faithful to me over the last seven years. the bike has been in storage during our southern winter, I took it out last weekend & whilst it started okay & ran okay for the first 20 miles, it soon developed a bad miss like it was firing on one cylinder only, causing me to nurse her home to check out.
The engine now runs like a sack of ******** with black smoke coming from the back cylinder & will back fire & stop when easing off the throttle. I have fitted new plugs but still have the same problem, can any one point me in the right direction? the kids are panicking over the loss of their summer weekend ride.

first thing is pull the plugs. hook up the coil wire to them set them so the metal is sitting (contacting) on engine metal somewhere (grounded) turn on the ignition crank the engine over several times to see if each plug is firing. if it's not you prob do have a bad coil. or it might be the ignition. let us know after you check that.
