Is anyone else's transmission noisy in 5th gear? I have a 07 street glide..thanks

 

Thats a good noise! 5th is a straight cut gear. Its stronger than the helical cut gears and does not side load the trap door bearings.

 

We use Red Line Shockproof in the gearbox's here, and seems to cure most noises, unless of course there is something going sideways.

Do a search on the subject but get ready to read a book, my own 07 was very bad when new, I installed the baker F6F kit which has helical gears and a stronger trap door and bearings. Harley has since went to helical gears on the newer models, since 10 if I recall correctly.
I have found Belray to be the best trans oil and believe me I had tried them all in my own bike.

 

If looking for a trans upgrade w/o just "replacing everything" as is so common in todays world, contact R&D, in Clearwater, Fla.
Once their done with it, you'll be amazed, and still have money in your pocket.
