What's up with the 5th gear noise some of the guys are complaining about in the 07 bikes? Not everyone has it but enough do that it has to be a design issue. What about the 06 bikes? My dyna has a 6 speed but I don't notice any additional noise. (granted that at 50 mph and up I don't hear much of anything but the wind) I don't think I have read any complaints about the 06 bikes but they have the exact same transmission as the 07 bikes don't they? It's a rainy day and I was just wondering.

I have an 06 and have not heard any noise. I have heard that 5th gear is a straight cut gear and that can cause more noise then all the other gears which are angle cut.

 

Noise? what noise....??? Sounds like music to my ears....

 

Yup 5th is a straight cut gear and a slight wine will be normal.

 

Only a slight noise and after I got my new pipes I don't even hear it.
