None of what you said above makes it a $250 job unless you are adding in the price of the cable and tranny fluid.
Well that and padding the hours a bit.

ok, so maybe he is padding... Im new to HD and this is not a certified dealership doing it. I may try it if its not that big a deal. I guess the tool can be borrowed from NAPA? If you have any tips about removing it once the tranny is open please share because the manual sounds like all kinds of messed up
