I need to re-route my clutch cable and I think I will have pull the cover to do it. I need another 8th of an inch of slack to loosen the cable enough to get it off the clutch lever, so I guess I have to pull the cover.
I have the manual and it does OK in telling how to remove the exhaust and cover, but it's not very good to what I can expect once I pull it. I think the cable is held on the cam by a ring clip, so do I have to worry about it falling apart?
I just need to get a little more slack so I can disconnect the cable at the lever then re-route it. Then reattach the cover, exhaust and add oil. Is it that easy? 90 minutes?
Also, this bike is a 1999, do you add anything to the oil plug to keep it from leaking? The manual doesn't say to use anything, but I use pipe dope on my other bikes.
