Default Battery Tender Question

Can I use my Sears 10/2 amp Fully Automatic battery charger as a "battery tender"? Can I just leave it connected and plugged in all winter or is it better to just charge the battery up once a month or so?Thanks.

You have two threads the same. I answered this in your other thread.

Just pony up 20 bucks and get the Schumacher one @ Wally world. It works great and you can leave the pigtails in and use it year-round

I don't know the particular battery charger you refer to, but charging a battery is not the same as keeping it 'topped up', such as over winter. I have tenders on all my bikes, plus a charger.

Yeah,I'll have to get a tender,I just thought the auto feature on my charger would be okay, but I guess even 2 amps is too much for continuous use. Thanks for the replies.

This charger will not work as a "battery tender".
