those ultima starters are not built to last. the average life is around 2 years and much less if your working it to hard. I have 10.97:1 and the only time I really need to use the compression releases is really hot starts. but I do use them all the time it saves wear and tear on the starter.
I've definitely made that starter work. So I guess I've gotten my money out of a lowere end starter. Any recommendations on one that would last. Looking at CR's too.
