How can you make it your own when you are asking others to tell you what to do??
What would you like it to look like?
Do that.

Haha i found some pictures, notice chrome trim pieces like fender rails and what no apeared common on most bikes of that era. Saw quite a few pics with more lights on the tour pack and bag region, thats no so much for me haha. Is that pretty much what the early 90s was about on these bikes? More chrome rails and lights the better? Im just really curious, i have many ideas what i actually want, inluding apes stretched bags, wire spokes n white walls but the wife is trying to convince me i need a newer bike with less miles to start that route. My bike was born 2 years after me so i dont know what was popular then.

Not apes, that's for certain! I've owned my 1990 bike from new and apes are a modern abomination on touring bikes. Jus' sayin'........

Hand lining was popular, to compliment and adorn your stock paintwork. You could leave it as it is, but add some decent modern suspension, brakes and performance improvements, so that it goes like the wind while looking bone stock!

Yea only reason im really on any idea if apes is because im 6'6" tall. I got the tall boys floor board relocators, bike already has an exhaust on it. Thinking im going to go with some chrome wire trim starting with the fender trim. Anyone have any expererience with soft lowers? I ride the bike to work a lot and its only 40ish degrees or so most spring/fall mornings. Do the soft lowers work good? I like my bare engine guards so thinking soft lowers would be a good easy on and of pending on weather.

You don't need to be that tall! Ye gods, almost a foot taller than me. Your bars can be adjusted to improve comfort - a bit! Oddly enough when I bought my bike they were set up by a gorilla - I had to move them down quite a bit to get comfortable with them.

A friend of mine has been telling me for years the most comfortable riding position is with your hands at shoulder level or just a hair lower.
About 6 months ago I finally took his advice and figured out what bars I needed (16" without risers) and HE WAS RIGHT!!!!

I have no idea what size you would need to do that but it works great for me.
