At the local dealer i fell in love with 2 new bikes, a brand new ultra classic in teal and off white on chrome spokes and white walls and a brand new road glide in pearl blue with a tour pack and 14" z bar apes. So a newer bike is definitely some i drool over but im thinking this one will do me fine for 6 years or so then move into the late 90s.

FWIW, the Road Glide is a tall man's bike and arguably the finest Touring bike HD ever made. I am 6' 5".
My '98 is the first year for the Road Glide, and '98 is the last year for the EVO Tourers.
.........in the mean time, enjoy your '91.

Thats what ive read, rg is a bit more ergonomic for a tall man. Thinkin a 98 rg is what i need to look out for then.

I was satisfied with my 86 goldwing till she twisted my arm into buying this harley becauase "she was sick of riding on the back of a bike that sounds like a scooter".
I wouldn't own a bike without chaps on the engine guards. I leave mine on all year round without issues. If anything they funnel more air towards the motor and not on your feet. I find it much easier to move my feet and legs around without all the wind resistance. Love em! I have used www.chilhowee.net and www.sagebrushdesigns.com . Both are nice Chilhowee brand was much thicker leather and very soft. Sagebrush are nice too but not as high quality leather IMO, but they also offer embroidering which I did. Also they are a 3rd the cost of the hard lowers.

Wow those look really nice. That electraglide looks like a twin to mine too minus the front fender rail. Ill have to check if my dealer can get those. If not im going to try the hd ones. They kinda look like a vinyl cloth material with a storage pouch in them. Look no where near as sharp as them.
