Perhaps the thought of paying out that much will tip the balance?!

My first question is do you want a newer bike?
If so then save your money.
If not then make the one you have fit.

Just my 2 cents.

In the meantime, just ride for a while and let the bike tell you what to do. Keep and modify, or upgrade to a newer one (last of the big EVOs is 1998), you will figure it out, no hurry.

I like that advice. Im sitting here looking at pics of my bike all shined up last year and thinkin, i like it just how it sits for now. I do think im going to try them soft lowers though for the cold morning commutes to work.

They will work just fine. Remember to remove them above 60 degrees.

the hard lowers only take a couple of minutes to take on or off, and they look much better than the soft ones. Also, there's nothing wrong with having a wife that's ok with getting a new scoot.

Agreed, hard ones look much better but also brand new color match are over 500 bucks. Thats a lot of coin for something i still really dont prefer. Actually thought a nice pair of chaps would serve the same purpose on cool or moist mornings but then there is the 6'6" tall factor. And yea i supose i have a pretty fair wife. I was satisfied with my 86 goldwing till she twisted my arm into buying this harley becauase "she was sick of riding on the back of a bike that sounds like a scooter".
