Starter left me stranded
Well I tore the starter out and took it back to the repair shop, that after he told me to try wiring a battery directly to the starter but still no change. So he worked on it for about an hour and determined it was either the clutch or a spindel inside the starter (why he didn't find that out before is beyond me). He didn't have the parts in stock so we decided to just ship in a new starter for $189 minus the $65 for my old starter. If all goes well I'll be up and running tomorrow night.
Got the new starter in the bike and it's working smooth as silk. Even tho I had to go thru hell with the repair shop I'm going to chalk this up to a good learning experience. I know much, much more about the starter system then I ever knew before. I'm always amazed how simple these systems are once I get thru my fears and tear into them. I felt this same way the first time I tore into the clutch. Thanks for everyones input.
