Started my bike tonight after a fresh rebuild, no oil pressure, motor loud, also did the oil pump, new keys, seal, clips, gaskets, put gears back where they were.
Pulled tappet screen and still bone dry.
Is the pump supposed to be bled somehow ???
Double check my oil lines already.... also have gage that stayed at zero.
Help appreciated...
remove the oil line from the top out side of the pump cover it should be the one connected to the tank feed - wait - when oil starts to come out re install and fire it back up it was air bound

Hopefully as john says. Here's a pic anyways. I know if it was mine I wouldn't think I could sleep....lol....
Thanks, I did double check hoses per SM ,and drew it before disassemble.
Your pump looks somewhat different than mine.
Gonna pull the hose when I get out of work today.

That's not mine but a pic i pulled off the net. The thing I like about it is that it shows specific connections, not like the generic manual pic. Any ways good luck man.
Never start the engine until you verify oil flow.
Remove spark plugs, ground the wires, spin engine until you see pressure on the gauge or the light goes out, or remove oil sending unit and see the oil coming out.
