thanks chaps, so im taking away from this that the general consensus is to use a high quality mineral oil 20-50

This ^^^^ OEM is a real biotch to remove on my FLHS, because of the add-on front mounted oil cooler.

Just make certain you get the one for the EVO and not the TwinCam.

I use the wix filters.

Thanks for all the replays chaps. Oil change and filter done today as well as new plugs and leads. Just used standard Harley oil filter and 360 oil. It's a mind field otherwise. It's 20 years old always had standard Harley stuff and still going. That speaks volumes.

However bloody hell my dad should have put these 8.8mm spark plug wires on years ago. The starting is so so so much better.
