Anyone here take a early 90's late 80's FLHS and convert to a later look FLHR? I have a 93 FLHS, runs good, looks decent but that damned gauge cluster atop the headlight nacelle is just so awkward looking.

If I remember correctly, that series had an extended neck that makes retrofitting other types of front ends difficult.

Long ago I remember using a dremel and polishing compound to make it unique and somewhat stylish. Sorry, no pictures of the results and the bike is long gone.

A '95 or earlier Softail speedo might work, but you'll need to figure out how to adapt it to mount on the gas tank.

I don't think the FLH housing will fit, you would probably need the special Road King housing.

Thanks to all, I may leave it as is with the expense to change it over. Still a good ride just looks different. Almos wish I could upgrade to the Roadie style of our 2012, that is a badass ride!!
