Is there a specific pattern to putting the bolts back into my outer primary cover? I have 'heard' there was, but can't find anything for blockheads. If it's in the service manual I missed it. I have an 89 fxstc and need to replace the gasket.

 

Start in the middle and alternating bottom to top work your way forward and when you have finished that go back to the middle and work your way to the back.
