86 FXR had a belt drive. Yeah, you missed out on that one.
If you look real close at the picture, just ahead of the saddlebag, you can actually see the chain sprocket. From the research I did at least some of the 86' FXR Super Glides must have come with a chain drive. I originally thought it might have been changed over but I found several factory literature pics that clearly showed a chain drive, one was even enclosed. Oh well winters almost here and I was going to have to find a place to store it anyway. Mike

Bummer you missed it Bro, but they're out there, you'll find one. You guys see great prices on them as well, which is why I bought mine from the mid-west. You do need to jump on a good price though. BTW, I thought 84 was the last year of chain driven FXR's? If that one had a chain, he may have reverted back. Some do that to fit a wider tire, others do it for wheelies.
