I just finished changing both tire and moved on the the motor mount. After I removed the voltage regulator,I noticed the bolt that holds the dog bone is missing. It the bolt that goes to the motor that has gone missing. I need to know what size it is with hope the hardware store has it. Btw is it possible for oil to leak out of that hole?
Not knowing your exact bike and the mount, I doubt it would be in a location that it would pass to a cavity that contains oil.
It it should be at least a grade 5 bolt. My top mount dog bone was grade 5 an pretty sure it's standard 3/8 bolt. But be aware of proper length and threads. Don't want it to long as to bottom out in its threaded hole causing a crack if it goes into a closed threaded hole.
Do do you have any bolts laying around to try by hand to see what size and thread pitch?
If if you go to one of the online harley parts diagram websites, you will be able to look up the bolt part number, then google the part number and it will tell you the size and thread pitch and length.
I would double check the threads in that hole for damage, chase and clean the threads, then use a small amount of blue loctite on bolt when reinstalling. YD

No I don't have any extra bolts, and I couldn't find it on the microfiche as well as the dog bone.

The parts diagram lists them as separate items. All the same, I'd pull the one you still have and see if it fits in the hole for the missing bolt. If it does, then you can take it to the hardware store and get a new one.
There is no way oil can come out of that hole. It doesn't connect to the cases. It bolts to a tang that is welded on to front engine mount bracket.

Thanks man,no wonder why I couldn't find it on the microfiche cause it was was under the crankcase. Yeah I was wondering if that explained the mysterious oil leak but as you explained that not the case.
