Default Super e hard start

I've got fuel, air, and spark. Was a one kick bike hot or cold. Just the last few times it seemed to get much worse. Two or three kicks cold, and a dead leg if it's warm. It was good is the part that's getting me. Turn on fuel, twist throttle, a couple prime kicks, hit key and enrichment, and it went on the first compression kick. Hot just turn on fuel, hit key, started on first compression kick. Only thing that seemed to be different is my warm idle was 950, now is more like 700. I bumped it up but no change in starting. Thanks.

Carb is new, under 300 miles I wouldn't think it got bad that fast. Plugs are same as always, lean but good enough

Would assume a air leak would cause the plugs to really turn

Something changed if the idle speed changed. I would be checking for a vacuum leak

Vacuum leak or some trash from the tank assuming the carb is set up per the manual. Just got finished helping a friend with his s&s. The intermediate jet had trash in it plugging the holes on the side, the idle mixture screw had been turned in way too far by previous owner and bent the needle, accelerator pump was out of adjustment. Once this was fixed also found the high speed jet was too lean. Runs good now though. He still needs an inline filter as the tank still has some trash in it (99 model S&S panhead)
Fortunately he has electric start.
