Default Choke

I noticed when I pull the choke out to start my bike up, as it starts the choke pulls back in on it,s own. Never had that happen, any suggestions. It's a 97 superglue thanks

Usually that's a sign of a broken choke cable.

Check where the cable attaches to the bracket over the horn.
If the plastic threads are broke then just replace the cable.

The choke on my '96 Heritage does the same thing as your "97 superglue". (That made me smile.)

Since it always turns itself off (instead of on), I haven't worried about it, but I suppose I should get it fixed one of these days.

Mine also does but very slowly which is fine because only choke for five to ten seconds anyway.

Yep.

This will happen if the plastic nut on thr cable is loose, and if it's cracked it's going to be loose.

I still think of this more as a feature than a problem. Once she's fired up, don't need the choke anymore.

Oops sorry. The cable looks good so I guess it's the nut, might be loose. Hopefully that's it

If the nut is loose then tighten it with your hands not a wrench!!!
It is very easy to break that plastic nut with a wrench.

This is from the 1998 Sporty manual but the choke operation & cable adjustment is the same for your bike.

A clothes pin works good to hold the choke out.

Mine has been that way for years. I just hold it open when starting and slowly let it go in. I use my throttle lock for warm up without the enrichner. I have tightened the nut a few times, but it always goes lose again after a short while. One of those things I just don't mess with anymore.
