I had a later model (05) FL Springer and it handled fine at low speeds. They do have less rake than a standard fork but not enough to make them dangerous. That being said, I rented a Street Glide for about three days and it did have better low speed (parking lot) handling than my Springer but not enough to make me think about getting one. The Springer is a great front fork and I highly recommend it.
JimmyDee, I notice you are in NC and are going to look at a 97 Heritage Springer. If it is in Salisbury NC let me know and I can give you some information on the bike before you make a 300 mile trip.
I have ridden many springers...never noticed any difference in a parking lot over a "regular" bike..the only problem I know of with them is they do not handle severe potholes well.
Yep my bike. Had I realized the clearance issues I would have changed some bolts out beforehand.
Still getting a quote on the fender . Honestly it's my fifth Harley though and my favorite. So smooth down the road. I like the Springer better than hydraulic forks.

Thank you MoFo67, I live just outside Charlotte so I can only wish the bike was in Salisbury. Unfortunately it is in GA. Thanks again..Jim
