I like hylomar ( recommended in your manual by MoCo) but kind of hard to find.
Another product (basically the same as hylomar) is Permatex Permashield. Can get it at any of your auto parts chains.
It does not "bond" like silicone sealers do. Stays tacky, and will not clog oil journals. Unlike silicone sealer, it is fuel resistant. Cleans up with brake cleaner.
however, I would not use on the foamette type gaskets. Only paper gaskets, threads, o-rings, etc. It's good to just keep a tube laying around for "whenever " the need. Yd

Somebody recently gave me an outer primary for a softail.
It's got a scuff but I think it's OEM.
If you want it I'll look and find out for you.

PM me your number and I'll send you pictures.
Like I said I think it's OEM but I can't guarantee that at this time.

Just for fun I looked at e-bay and there are a crapload of outer primaries on there.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...43-95&_sacat=0

Like I said I think mines OEM but I'm not sure.
It was given to me so I just don't know (I tend to take a lot of free stuff that fits softails without looking at it).

In your PM you said the ones on e-bay were used.

Here is something just for curiosities sake. MoCo still offers a cover for a 99 softail, the major difference is it uses a 5 bolt derby. Of course the 99's still used the evo engine. Does anyone know other than derby cover, did the 99 softies have a different primary?

And since the softails and the dynas use the same outer, safe to assume the same goes for the dynas. YD
