white smoke
I have a 99 softail 1340, when starting and after pushing the choke back to open, at idle there is white smoke coming out from the pipes near the engine, it looks like it 's from where the crossover is . It doesn't happen all the time, but often enough, any idea what 's the cause / fix for this, bike idles and runs great otherwise. Once the bike has been ridden , or after a hot start, it doesn't happen.

White smoke usually indicates oil is burning off. I'm going to guess you may have a small leak which is dropping oil onto one of the pipes, hence burning off when the engine gets hot. Clean your engine thoroughly, then inspect in future, to see if you can trace the source of the leak.
