Floppy mirror
So my new-to-me 99 Fat Boy has a right side mirror that positions OK unless you get on it, and the vibration sends it flopping around on the stalk, pretty much useless as my ex-wife. Is there any way to fix it, or is replacing the only option? If so, anybody have a set of old stock mirrors or a right side one they'd let go of for cheap?
Tighten the 2 phillips screws on the back of the mirror, position it where you want it then put a couple drops of Superglue on the ball where it goes into the mirror back. Let dry and you're good to go. Also works for later mirrors with no screws.
If the mirror has the two phillips screws..tighten screws a quarter turn.
If you tighten too much the little metal that screws attach to inside mirror will become stripped.
The glue was to add roughness to ball...only if needed

What he said. You'll still be able to adjust the mirror after the Superglue.
Sure enough, worked like a charm. Didnt even check for screws on the back! ::facepalm:: Both my other bikes have aftermarket mirrors with no screws. The ones on the fatty were Phillips, btw.

What I would like to find is a set of riser bushings that won't allow the vibration to the bars and mirrors. If any one has found a set, please chime in..... You remember back in the eighties and nineties either Chevy or Chrysler made those Liquid filled motor mounts. Wonder if any one attempted that concept for Harley?
